Yvora is an invented name. Honestly.

We spent months looking for a word that described exactly what the application does. In English, Romanian, French, Italian, Latin, Ancient Greek.

Every good word in the packaging space was already taken. And, more importantly, none of them meant what we wanted the name to say:

“That moment when a complicated regulation becomes clear and you know exactly what to do.”

There is no word for that. In none of the languages we checked. So we built one: Yvora.

Easy to pronounce in any language of the European Union. With no inherited semantic baggage to explain or to fight. A blank page we write ourselves, together with the people who use it.

Yvora does not come from folklore. It will enter it.

The timeline

Four months, from the first EC guidance to the launch of Yvora

4 months · 30 March 2026 → 29 July 2026. The Regulation became applicable two weeks later.

11 February 2025 The PPWR Regulation enters into force
The Regulation sets a new regime for packaging placed on the European Union market, with a staggered application calendar.
30 March 2026 The Commission’s first guidance - and the day work on Yvora began
The European Commission publishes the first set of official guidance. Work on the application begins the same month, following a logical order of the PPWR implementation requirements.
April – July 2026 Developed and tested on real cases
Tested in order: the position along the PPWR chain, the packaging sheet, the technical documentation and the Declaration of Conformity.
29 July 2026 The public launch
The application is launched at a public workshop attended by more than 350 national and multinational companies.
12 August 2026 The Regulation becomes applicable
Seven days after launch, more than 100 companies in Romania were already working in the application.

The team

The people who created Yvora

Yvora started from an observation made daily in the work of Reciclad'OR, a producer responsibility organisation with a portfolio of over 1,300 companies: producers were not short of information - they were practically unable to translate the PPWR requirements into their day-to-day operations. They needed a tool kept permanently aligned with the Regulation. That is how Yvora was born.

The application is the work of a team. Marius Cristian Brînzea, Strategy Director at Reciclad'OR, conceived, designed and developed the application. Alongside him, Bogdan Vasilescu, an IT expert of the highest rank - someone whose contribution began long before managing lines of code, through his understanding of the application's mechanisms and of the innovation process. And senior consultants Oana Mădălina Bostan and Iuliana Anghel supported the project during testing and after launch, with feedback grounded in their extensive consultancy expertise and their understanding of European directives and regulations.

And throughout the testing period the application received valuable, continuous feedback from Reciclad'OR partners - national and multinational companies. We are deeply grateful to them.

That is also why Yvora is not merely a piece of software: behind every module in the application stands the expertise of industry consultants and practitioners who have seen and understood the mechanisms and the documents that ensure the accuracy and the legality of audit and inspection processes.
